With years of expertise in the local building materials sector, the Polish client planned a brand new marble grinding production line to unlock waste marble chip resources, expand production capacity of building powder raw materials and comply with local environmental production standards. The core requirement is to process marble chip feedstock and produce standardized 200 mesh powder fully for local building material manufacturing.

Based on material properties, the customer’s capacity target and site conditions, SBM custom tailored a grinding solution with the LM Vertical Roller Mill as the main unit. The complete production line features a high degree of automation and is equipped with on-line monitoring modules. Operators can monitor key parameters in real time, including main motor current, air pressure and powder fineness. It reduces manual intervention and facilitates refined operation and maintenance management for European based plants.
Upon equipment delivery and site deployment, SBM provides full cycle long term supporting services simultaneously. Specialized systematic technical training is delivered for the customer’s front line operators and maintenance personnel. The training covers practical operations including standardized start up and shutdown procedures of the production line, routine inspection and maintenance specifications, wearing part replacement and equipment troubleshooting. It empowers the customer’s team to quickly master equipment operation and maintenance skills, enabling autonomous, regular and standardized production management of the production line.

Developed by SBM drawing on nearly four decades of R&D and manufacturing experience in grinding equipment, LM Vertical Roller Mill is a large scale integrated intelligent grinding machine incorporating internationally advanced grinding technologies. Integrating grinding and drying functions in one unit, it requires no separate independent drying equipment. It simplifies auxiliary line configuration, cuts equipment footprint and civil engineering investment, and is widely applicable for large scale grinding and processing of various non metallic minerals such as marble, limestone, calcite and dolomite.
Targeting the particle size, moisture content of marble chip feedstock as well as finished product fineness requirements, SBM process team designed a dry circuit process consisting of crushing, grinding, classification, collection and finished product conveying.
After being crushed to proper feed size for milling, raw materials are fed into LM Vertical Roller Mill via the feeding device. Rotation of the grinding table draws materials under the grinding rollers. Stable material beds are formed under the loading force exerted by the hydraulic system, and materials are pulverized by compression grinding. Ground materials are lifted by hot process air to the dynamic classifier on the upper section. Qualified fine powder is separated by the classifier and collected in the pulse dust collector. Coarse particles fall back onto the grinding table for re-grinding, building an efficient closed circuit circulation.
